What is Research (for Event Organisers)?

Research in WHR is the organiser’s search engine for the event economy. Instead of scattered spreadsheets or guesswork, it gives organisers a single place to find potential exhibitors, sponsors, speakers, and competing events.

For organisers, building a strong event depends on three things:

  • Attracting the right exhibitors and sponsors

  • Securing credible speakers

  • Staying ahead of competing events

  • Tracking their current & churned customers

The Research feature is designed exactly for this. It allows you to:

  • Search companies by industry, size, and past participation to identify sponsorship prospects

  • Discover which companies are exhibiting at events similar to yours

  • Explore potential speakers and thought leaders by topic or geography

  • Track competing events in your sector or region to plan dates strategically

Instead of manual prospecting, Research pulls intelligence from the WHR event graph and keeps it updated, so you’re always looking at fresh data.

Steps

  1. Go to the Research tab.

  2. Select what you’re searching for: Events, Companies, or Speakers.

  3. Apply filters (industry, location, date, role, etc.) to refine your results.

  4. Bookmark or Save promising profiles or events into Trackers for ongoing monitoring.

  5. Export or share lists internally with your team for outreach or planning.

Tips

  • Start broad with industry/location filters, then narrow down by company size or function.

  • Use Research early in your event cycle to build a stronger sponsor and speaker pipeline.

  • Combine Research with Trackers to avoid repeating searches for the same companies.
