1. What are Search Tokens?
Search Tokens are the way WHR measures data usage. Every time you unlock results from our live database (events, companies, or people), it uses tokens.
2. Types of Search Modes
There are two ways tokens get used:
| Mode | What it means | Token usage | What you see |
|---|---|---|---|
| Advanced Search | Full power search with advanced filters, trackers, and detailed results | 1 token per row of data (event, company, or person) | Enriched fields, deep filters, trackers, analytics |
| Basic Search Mode | Light search (when you pause advanced filters or finish token) | Free, limited daily/monthly quota (depends on plan) | Limited filters, basic fields, no trackers |
? Think of it like 5G vs 3G: advanced search gives you high-speed enriched data, while basic search keeps you connected, but lighter.
3. When are Tokens Used?
Search results → Each row (event, company, or person) = 1 token.
Detail page views → Opening a profile (event, company, or person) = 1 token
Trackers (Saved Searches) → Free to create, but viewing results = same as search (tokens apply).
Bookmarks / Coordinate / Outreach → Free (no tokens used).
4. Contact Credits (Separate)
Unlocking contact details (emails, phone, organiser contacts) uses Contact Credits, not Search tokens.
Both are shown separately on your dashboard.
5. Team Accounts
If multiple teammates run the same search, each view deducts tokens.
Best practice: save searches as Trackers → teammates can open the same tracker without re-creating.
(Future plan - cached results within 24h could avoid double charges – but today, each view is counted fresh.)
6. Plans & Allowances
Each plan comes with a monthly allowance of credits (and resets every billing cycle)
| Plan | Monthly Search Tokens | Daily Basic Search (when out of tokens) |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | 400 | Limited daily basic quota |
| Scale | 2000 | Limited daily basic quota |
| Advanced | 10000 | Limited daily basic quota |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom |
7. Using Tokens for Export
Export via csv file or API both uses tokens. Each entry is considered a Token. Refer to export & API documentation to know about the fields that are exported
